LCY
Born in Bristol and currently based in London, LCY is an audio/visual artist at the edge of contemporary electronic music. Surrounded by the club heavy environment of the UK, it’s no surprise they are continually pushing the envelope of the very music they grew up with. At the start of 2020, the elusive multi-genre producer, artist and DJ, changed thier name from L U C Y to LCY. The change in the alias reflected a shift into the darker, more percussive side of electronic music while also revealing their face to the world as an artist for the first time. In 2021 they dropped the EP Pulling Teeth, showcasing the execution of thier visionary, hybrid UK club sound, each track flowing seamlessly into the next, transporting the listener to the dimly lit haze of an underground rave, rattling with sub-bass and haunting synths fit for a thriller soundtrack.
LCY founded SZNS7N in 2019, a forward thinking label with releases spanning all corners of electronic, bass and club music. The label features their own music alongside heavy-hitting peers like NARA, Air Max ’97, Tailor Joe, and Ship Set. With a focused vision and razor sharp productions, LCY has of course been selected to grace the likes of Mix Mag, Boiler Room, and EarMilk, blurring the lines of club music with thier own unique influences, shaping thier elusive identity with each inimitable mix.
