S4M23 is a DJ, producer and new media artist currently based in Chicago. Growing up in Boston, S4M23 found themselves naturally drawn to the expansive depths of electronic music at an early age, cultivating a wide range of influences and particularly resonating with acts such as Tujiko Noriko, Christoph De Babalon, Amon Tobin and those on Chicago's legendary Teklife roster. In addition to various facets of dance music serving as lifelong inspiration, S4M23 also cites shoegaze, ambient, noise, hardcore techno and grindcore punk as having a profound impact on their artistry. First experimenting with electronic music production as far back as elementary school, S4M23 was quick to realize the curious ways in which music is an integral parallel to their own individual growth as a person, a perspective that continues to hold an omnipresent significance years later.

After relocating to Chicago in 2020, S4M23 continued refining their artistic practice, taking it to new heights and investing themselves more fully in dance music and nightlife as a whole. Approaching their work as S4M23 as a separate entity from the rest of their world has empowered them to grow authentically as an artist, with community building serving as an intrinsic motivation to create in the first place. In addition to recently being featured as part of the mix series for DC-based 140+ Collective and the Chicago collective RUMORS respectively, as well as appearing on a compilation for Croatia-based imprint LI$024 ("Jester"), this summer will see S4M23's debut EP Angelface on RAVE4EVAR, a sub-label of Trickfinger and Aura T-09's Evar Records.
