LYZZA
Brazilian producer and vocalist, LYZZA, is well on track to become one of electronic music’s most promising avant-garde pop producers. She has transplanted herself from Amsterdam’s alternative music scene, where she spent her teenage years, to London and Berlin where she is carving out a name for herself in an ever-growing scene of electronic music masterminds. LYZZA kickstarted her career in 2016 playing DJ-sets at Vogue balls in Amsterdam, quickly paving her way into international clubs all over Europe & Asia with her non-stop grooves, before developing her experimental live performance showcased alongside alt-pop mainstay, Nicolas Jaar, closing out his residency at Het Hem in Amsterdam.
LYZZA’s debut EP, ’Powerplay’, exploded in 2017 being used as soundtrack by CHROMAT and Mugler in their runway shows with a sound that stands apart from the rest, erring more towards whole compositions rather than tracks built specifically to rock the club. ‘IMPOSTER’, her second EP released in 2018, solidified LYZZA as a composer, lyricist and more than just a club kid. Her forward thinking approach earned her spots with Europe’s biggest festivals playing at the likes of Sonar, Melt!, Pukkelpop, Montreal Jazz Festival, and Primavera Sound. She was even featured in Crack Magazine, named one of the “Artists Shaping the Future of Music” merely a few years into her career, solidifying her as a force to be reckoned with on the decks and in the studio.
LYZZA’s upward trend has yet to falter with her 2019 EP, ‘DEFIANCE’. With her music edging into the realm of pop music, it seems only natural for her tracks to have graced the airwaves, receiving radio play and critical acclaim. Her growing reputation as an outspoken voice is surely laying the blueprint for artists, eschewing the status quo and rewriting the rules as she sees fit. Her pummeling club sets sure to keep you moving, but the only thing pulsing faster than the BPM is her rise to stardom.
