BASECK
Someone who is the definition of living the scene. Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat.
Baseck has been involved in raves his whole life and started DJ’ing at 12 or 13, throwing raves shortly following. His first paid DJ gig was at age 16, playing hardcore acid and gabber for Gregg Ginn of Black Flag. He started out as a turntablist with hip hop before advancing that style to rave music, a segway to knobs, sliders and an obsession with music making hardware.
It’s only fitting he’s released the eurorack synthesizer module Triptych alongside Boys Noize under their company BII Electronics. Outside of designing gear for the masses, Baseck has been busy racking up accolades, collaborating with some of electronic musics finest including AG Cook (owner of PC Music), Charli XCX, Cevin Key of Skinny Puppy and Genesis P. Orridge for an exhibition at MOCA here in Los Angeles. He’s even landed a release with an EP on Boysnoize Records, a split 7” vinyl record with hardcore techno’s hero, Marc Acardipane, and another EP with Nine Inch Nail’s Alessandro Cortini.
